The company was established in April 1990 by the young entreaupenerial managing director Stephen Hammett, and has grown and developed over the years into one of the largest independently owned cleaning companies in the UK.
Solo commenced trading in the local head office area of Swansea and was steadily awarded contracts along the south Wales m4 corridor and became a key service provider in the South Wales market.
Stephen recognised the need in the service market place for a high quality and customer service focused cleaning provider from the onset and established strong working relationships from day 1. this is evident from a number of solo’s long standing clients such as Dyfed Powys Police, Admiral Insurance, Western Power Distribution formerly Hyder.
In 2000 solo made a strategic decision to expand its services outside of Wales and embarked on developing a national business. This was done via a number of successful mergers with companies that shared the same values as solo in areas where solo did not have a presence. These mergers were used as a starting point to develop the business further throughout the UK together with the retention and development of relationships with both existing and new customers and staff has enabled solo to grow consistently every year since establishment.
Solo now employs in the region of 4500 staff, of whom many mangers have been part of the team since the very early days of the company’s launch.
Solo is proud to have been in business for over twenty years, relationships have grown with many of our customers and this is shown through their continued support and also the dedication of long term employees at all levels within the organisation has made solo become an influential name in the cleaning industry
Solo recognises this anniversary as a time to celebrate its achievements and thank all those who have been involved on the journey of success to date.
